Choate won a record seventh Founders League championship in 2000 with an
impressive team effort on a long and hilly 5-kilometer course at Hotchkiss
School. Senior Patrick Martha won the individual crown with an overpowering
performance, 57 seconds ahead of the next finisher, dominating the meet he last
won as a sophomore. Three different Choate runners have won the League individual title
four of the past five years.
Pat Martha earned
All-Founders League recognition for the fourth time, while co-captain Charlie
Sussman earned the same honors for the second year and teammates Walton Ward
'02, David Desjardins '02, Andy Taylor '02, and Eric Wolff '01 were named to the
All-League team for the first time.
The Wild
Boars varsity earned the team title for the fourth consecutive time--also a
record. The Choate
JV took its fifth straight race in the League meet with a perfect score of "15," taking fifteen of the top twenty places. Four-year Blue and Gold
harrier Diego Long won the junior varsity event.
